Going to the Heart of the Matter: Helping Couples Heal After Infidelity Events

Description: This one-day workshop aims to expand skills in working with couples following infidelity events. The workshop will include consideration of the adaptive function of emotions (hurt, jealousy, fear, sadness, shame, guilt and anger) and building EFT skills in working with these emotions to promote healing for both partners. The role of apology and forgiveness of self and other will also be considered. Excerpts of clinical recordings will be shown along with engagement in experiential exercises. This workshop aims to help clinicians facilitate therapeutic change for distressed couples wanting to heal their relationship after infidelity events.
