Fundamentals of Emotionally Focused Therapy Online Workshop – 29 August 2025

This one-day workshop provides an overview of EFT with individuals, couples and families and introduces interested clinicians to the EFT model and the power of EFT to facilitate healing and growth for clients presenting with personal and relationship-related distress.

Attendance at this workshop is now an ICEEFT requirement for EFT clinicians applying to for Certification as Supervisors in EFT.

Course Information

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

• Summarise the EFT perspective – experiential, growth-oriented
• Describe the key tenets of attachment theory.
• Identify the goals and stages of the EFT model across modalities.
• Outline the core EFT interventions as they apply and differ in three modalities: individuals suffering from depression, anxiety and PTSD, distressed couples and distressed families.
• Specify the strengths of attachment theory and science as a map to understanding client problems and strengths and how attachment guides every session.
• Utilise attachment science as a moment-to-moment guide to the shaping of potent systematic change in psychotherapy sessions.
• Define the moves of the EFT Tango and how they differ across modalities.

This training is ideally for:

• Social Workers, Counsellors and Psychologists working in government organisations or NGOs
• Medical Social Workers working in hospitals and medical institutions
• Psychologists and Counsellors in private practice
